This idea of 'strength' is something we are going to be focusing on because while it is essential to hard core survival, it is also just essential. In the podcast today we'll talk about in length. But if you just want to print version, just scroll down a bit! No one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. If you think about this idea of strength, what first comes to mind? For most it would be physical strength - what your body can do. But over the course of a lifetime we learn more about what real strength is and that it is experience that teaches us what it means to BE STRONG. And that for many the problems come up when we spend more time afraid of our weakness than focusing on our strength.
So here is what happened just now. I just wrote this really amazing essay on strength and the computer dumped it.
All gone. Give me strength is what comes to mind because I can't rewrite it - it is gone forever . . . Strength requires me not to break the computer with my bare hands (though that is what I am feeling), it requires me to begin again. And that is the real path to finding our strength. When life makes it hard, you get back up and keep going. If we stop at strength as a means of power and control over the other, the idea might makes right, we will only have tyranny. If we continue past strength we will come to what is its real gift - love, peace, empowerment, joy, and freedom. Strength doesn't grow in the absence of fear, it becomes part of the journey through fear. The idea that only the strong survive is not true. Many who survive are not strong. Only those who move past just survival know true strength. Questions to think about:
These are just a few thoughts since the rest have disappeared into the ethers.... But the meaning of real strength is what is missing for so much of our world today. It is why we have given the power and control to the few and why they can control the many.
