We are having a very short video today - it was SOOOO beautiful there was just no way I could sit inside and edit.... so with that, roll video: And my favorite part of the day, writing to you - here:
Hello Friend,
You are here. This is a good start to any day! Who in your life is excited to see you when you arrive? Funny how we don't show that or if we do we are labeled weird. A small child or a faithful dog will greet us with joy and excitement and that is okay. But a grown up? When does that happen? Yet, what feels better than seeing the face of another light up when we walk into a room? And do we ever do that our selves? That is the real test, not in our disappointment in what the other is not doing for us - but the freedom of doing for the other without needing anything in return. I write to you here every day because you can't see my face light up when we meet. But my heart does. Even if I don't know your name, I know how it feels and so that is what I want to give back. And sadly, it is easier here in this way because I can't see you or anyone look confused or uncomfortable or just walk away without saying anything. Because that is what usually happens. So today I am going to throw this out to you to consider. Will you light up when you see your self in a mirror today? What if you started the day that way just for you? That when you looked in a mirror and saw your own reflection you just said how happy you were to see you? I know, weird. I know, too self-helpy like. I know, no way. But, what if? Nothing changes until we change it. No one can do for us what we must do for our self. And if you are waiting for the world to change first, you will wait forever. And do you want to do that? Or will you give up before you ever try something else first - even if it is weird? Our greatest moment of freedom comes when we realize only we can save our selves. And even more exciting is when we decide to do just that. There will be no great aha. There will be no dramatic soundtrack in the background. There will be no applause or congratulations or medals presented. It is a moment found alone and in the silence. And, if not grabbed on with both hands, lost from you as quickly as it came to you. That is your moment today or when you are ready, this decision. Found in your own eyes when you look in the mirror. But first, you must look. Until tomorrow and from my heart to yours, see you in 24, Jill Today's Podcast includes a story that explains all of this:
