In the days before the year ends it matters not what religion you are or are not, there is a message in yesterday's post and today's podcast that is true for all.
The world asks you to focus on the gifts we can get. I am asking you to focus on what you can give.
Not in the material world.
But the gift that is in you.
One of my favorite stories and songs of this season is The Little Drummer boy, of which you can watch the end below:
He gave of himself and what he had. Do you?
Yesterday I shared the stories of those who gave of themselves at the risk of their own life. Would you?
When we watch a movie or video we are moved for a moment but often that moment passes with the next episode.
When you listen to the podcast you may hold onto the idea shared for the minutes you are listening.
When you read an idea may be planted a bit deeper within you.
But then what?
What does it take for us to change? What motivates us to grow?
Pain, suffering, loss, death - these are all powerful motivators to get our attention.
But are we ready to suffer less and still learn more?
I hope you will think about today and yesterday's ideas in the next few weeks as we move into a new year, another beginning.
I am walking this path with you not to promise you riches and gifts and bounty all wrapped in peace on earth.
I am walking this road with you because I believe you will be the calm in the storm, the force of strength in the face of fear, and the song of love in the midst of chaos.
Why are you here? Not just reading this, but here in this world?
What does the beat of your heart share with the world as you drum it?
Something went wrong!
